Indonesia maps wellness routes and Bali investment zones for travellers
Based on reporting by Travel Daily News Asia: Indonesia develops national wellness tourism roadmap to strengthen quality and attract international visitors

Indonesia is working on a national plan for wellness travel that will name the country's wellness spots, things to do, service providers and related firms. Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana shared the news from Jakarta on 30 October 2026.
The effort connects several parts: developing places, coaching businesses through the Wonderful Indonesia Scale Up Hub, and chances to invest in two Bali special economic zones, Sanur and Kura Kura Bali. It also covers ten themed routes in Java, and the ministry is backing the Jogja Cultural Wellness Festival from 6 to 8 November 2026.
Wardhana pointed to Global Wellness Institute data that puts total wellness tourism spending at US$893.9 billion in 2024, a rise of 13.8% year on year, as reported on 1 Nov 2026. Asia-Pacific saw 562.7 million wellness trips that year. No end date for the roadmap has been set yet.
