Belavia Belarusian Airlines has begun its first scheduled nonstop route from Minsk to Bangkok, arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The move takes the airline from seasonal charter operations to regular services, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand welcomed the first flight.

The carrier runs a weekly flight from Minsk to Bangkok each Sunday, using an Airbus A330-200 that seats 281 people, of whom 18 are in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class. A twice-weekly connection to Phuket is set to begin on 29 October 2026, on the same aircraft type. That route is expected to bring in about 2,248 inbound seats each month.

Thailand recorded 23,769 visitors from Belarus between 1 January and 24 October 2026, and full-year arrivals are forecast at 30,000 to 35,000. The routes are seen as a way to strengthen winter-season tourism demand.

What it means for travellers from India

  • These are new direct links between Minsk and two of Thailand's main destinations, adding capacity on the route ahead of winter.
  • Bangkok serves as a base for shopping, cultural sights and onward domestic connections, while Phuket centres on beach stays, water activities and wellness.
  • The monthly Phuket schedule adds roughly 2,248 inbound seats, which could widen availability for long-haul leisure travel into Thailand.
