Two new Bangkok routes link Thailand with Malaysia and Poland
Based on reporting by Travel Daily News Asia: Two new Bangkok routes strengthen Thailand’s tourism links with Malaysia and Europe

Two international services have started arriving at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport within a short span of one another. Thai Vietjet Air launched a daily direct route from Kuala Lumpur, while LOT Polish Airlines began scheduled nonstop flights between Warsaw and Bangkok.
The Vietnamese-affiliated carrier's first direct service from Malaysia began on 9 October 2026, with the Kuala Lumpur-bound return departing Bangkok daily. An inaugural flight carried 171 booked passengers, equal to a 90% load factor, using a 189-seat Boeing 737-8. The Tourism Authority of Thailand noted that between 1 January and 7 October 2026, arrivals from Malaysia reached 3,006,730.
A day earlier, on 8 October, LOT Polish Airlines welcomed its first scheduled direct flight to Thailand. The Polish flag carrier operates the Warsaw-Bangkok service three times weekly from 7 to 25 October 2026, then raises it to five flights a week from 26 October 2026 through March 2027, offering up to 1,260 inbound seats weekly during the winter. Warsaw also connects to more than 100 destinations across Europe and elsewhere, and nearby Central European markets gain another option for reaching Bangkok.
What it means for travellers from India
- Travellers heading to Thailand via Bangkok now have additional onward and network choices, though the two new routes connect Bangkok directly with Kuala Lumpur and Warsaw rather than with Indian cities.
- The Warsaw-Bangkok service opens a nonstop path between Central Europe and Thailand, which could matter for journeys that combine Europe and Southeast Asia in one trip.
- The Tourism Authority of Thailand is promoting provinces beyond the well-known spots such as Phuket and Krabi, including southern and northern areas it hopes to open up to more visitors.
